Hello Everyone!    We would like to wish all of our Macaroni Moms a super, wonderful, fantabulous Mother's Day!  May your day be one of peaceful relaxation, no tantrums, super clean kids, and a good afternoon nap without interruptions......:)  (We can dream, right?)

We've got a busy weekend with plenty of opportunities for your family to get out and enjoy some springish weather!  Our Macaroni Kid recommendations for the week include Movies in the Park - Harrisburg, the Get Ourdoors and Play festival at the Latta Nature Center, and the Lowe's Build and Grow!  Have a fantastic weekend!!

Mother's Day Breakfast!


A breakfast treat for you!

Crunchy french toast, fresh strawberries and cream cheese make a great treat for any mom on Mother's Day!
Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 slices cinnamon raisin bread
2 cups crushed cereal flakes (corn, bran, etc) - We used Kashi 7 Whole Grain Flakes
1 cup whipped cream cheese
1 cup diced fresh strawberries
2 tsp powdered sugar
Oil
Directions:
Crack eggs into medium size shallow bowl, beat lightly with a fork. Add milk and vanilla and stir well.

Nature makes the best playground!  From catching fish and making mud pies, to building forts, nature has it all!  Visit Latta for the first annual festival that's all about getting outside, having fun, and being active in nature!  Activities include canoeing, hunting for bugs, building sand castlesm, and much MORE messy fun!

Saturday, May 19 - Charlotte Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

The Preeclampsia Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing maternal and infant illness and death due to preeclampsia, a life-threatening disorder of pregnancy. Approximately 5 to 8 percent of pregnancies are affected by preeclampsia, and it is responsible for approximately 18% of all maternal deaths. Awareness of the disorder and its symptoms are keys to early treatment and survival. There are approximately thirty-four other walks being held around the nation to raise awareness and funds for Preeclampsia. This will be the first walk hosted in the Charlotte area.

Who: Everyone is invited, especially survivors and friends and families of survivors of Preeclampsia, HELLP Syndrome and other Hypertensive Pregnancy Disorders.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding.  If you have questions about breastfeeding or just would like to meet other breastfeeding mothers, this is the meeting for you.  LLL of Cabarrus is held the 2nd Thurs of every month.

Do you have a budding chef in your house?  If so, bring them to the Concord Mills Food Court for a fun opportunity to rool up their sleeves and play with their food.  Kidgits members will enjoy food related activities, giveaways, prizes, and much more!  This is also a charitable event!  Kids are encouraged to bring non perishable food items to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank
